Production of motor vehicles and engines for motor vehicles in Poland according to CSO data - FEBRUARY 2024
According to the latest data published by the Central Statistical Office (CSO),in FEBRUARY 2024 production of passenger cars and trucks remained at a similar level as a month earlier and was considerably higher than last year, while in case of buses it was much lower than in February 2023 and marginally higher than in January this year.
Production of internal combustion vehicle engines recorded a slight year-on-year increase and a slight decrease compared to January this year.
PASSENGER CARS
y/y change: February +41.3% ; January-February: +41.6%
Last month, 29.4 thousand passenger cars were produced, by 8.6 thousand units. (+41.3% y/y) more than in January 2024. and by 100 pcs. (-0,3%) less than a month earlier. Since the beginning of the year, 58.9 thousand cars have rolled off the production lines in Poland have rolled off 58.9 thousand cars, 17.3 thousand more than in the same period last year (+41.6% y/y)
TRUCKS AND AGRICULTURAL TRACTORS FOR TOWING TRAILERS
y/y change: February +41.3% y/y; January-February: -3,2%
Production of trucks and light trucks posted an impressive 32,342 units for another consecutive month, translating into a year-on-year increase of 41,3%. The result produced is marginally lower than a month earlier
by 3.2%m/m. Year-to-date, production totaled 65,756 vehicles, up 21 822 units. (+49.7% y/y) more than in the first two months of 2023r. Since 2009, truck production has remained in an upward trend.
VEHICLES FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
y/y change: February -26,0% y/y; January-February: -20,6%
Production of of buses in February this year ended at 344 units, 121 units (-26.0% y/y) lower than in the same month last year.
Since the beginning year, 636 buses were produced, by 165 units. (-20.6% y/y) than in the the same period of 2023. This year's results are significantly lower than a year earlier due to the 0reduction or termination of production of of buses in Poland.
ENGINES FOR MOTOR VEHICLES
y/y change: February +17,2% y/y; January-February: +13,9%
In February, production of internal combustion vehicle engines once again ended on a high note with 218,000 units. This is an increase of 32 thousand units. (+17.2% y/y) than in the same month of 2023. The
result is marginally lower than a month earlier by 6 thousand (-2.7% m/m). Since the beginning of the year, 442 thousand engines have arrived, 54 thousand more than in the same period of 2023. Among them, 414 thousand units were engines diesel engines while 28 thousand units are gasoline engines. The share of gasoline engines and after two months it is only 5%.
Overview of current production figures
Passenger car registrations continued to grow for the second consecutive month after a slowdown in the last month of last year, while light commercial vehicles recorded a slight increase. however, heavy trucks went into a double-digit decline compared to last year.
