History

  • The Official Car Importers' Association (SOIS) was established in 1992 on the initiative of a group of importers of new vehicles under the leadership of Sobiesław Zasada. The main objective of the Association became the support of actions and efforts taken by the private importers in connection with their activity and in their common interest, however protecting the interests of the Polish economy and the automotive sector as superior values.
  • In 2003 the General Meeting of Association of Official Car Importer (SOIS), decided to dissolute Association. At the same time, Automotive Association SOIS (Związek Motoryzacyjny SOIS) was established to represent and provide mutual support of associated companies - vehicle's importers and producers by operating in the public area (government and Parliament), through presence in the media and co-operating with other organizations in the interest of its members, especially during the process of integration with European Union.
  • In 2004 Związek Motoryzacyjny SOIS became a member of ACEA – the European. Our accession to ACEA was a very important moment in our history - particularly in the light of Poland 's integration with the European Union.
  • Due to such dynamic structural and functional changes of our organization, General Assembly deliberating in 2006 has decided to change the name into: POLISH ASSOCIATION OF AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY . The main reason for such decision was necessity to reflect the new membership structure, i.e. the fact that most member companies are subject directly to their mother factories, but private importers. With the new name, we would also like to emphasize the participation of producers and the fact that we are representing the whole industry.
  • Presently PZPM associate 42 members, i.e. the predominant number of entities engaged in the import of new vehicles to Poland.
  • In 2012 PZPM celebrated anniversary of two decades continuous activity!
