The Automotive Barometer - Report prepared by PZPM and KPMG, edition 2/2020
Published: 23-06-2020
The results of the latest survey by KPMG and PZPM "The Automotive Executives Barometer Survey" leave no doubt about the scale of the negative impact of COVID-19 on the automotive market in Poland.
An extremely difficult situation in the automotive industry causes pessimism among representatives of automotive companies on the Polish market. In the latest edition of the KPMG and PZPM survey, the mood index stopped at just 20 points and is 46 points lower than in the survey conducted in late December 2019. COVID-19 has had a negative impact on automotive companies in Poland - all surveyed companies recorded a decline in revenue, and 61% were forced to cut wages. In the long term, companies plan to reduce employment and freeze investments in business development. According to 80% of managers, it will take up to 2 years to reach the situation in the automotive industry before the outbreak of the pandemic.
