Motor Vehicle & Combustion Engines Production in Poland OCTOBER 2024

We are presenting PZPM-GUS vehicle & combustion engines for vehicles production in Poland.

IN OCTOBER 2024 . The Central Statistical Office has corrected vehicle production data for the first half of this year in Poland.
The correction had the greatest impact on the results for the production of public transport vehicles, the number of which was adjusted by approximately 1,000 units. After the correction and the record October result (932 units), bus production after 10 months of 2024 is 5 554 units, 34% higher year-on-year.
In October, passenger cars recorded a slightly higher result than the month before (13,200 cars), but almost double that of the same month last year.
After 10 months, passenger car production stands at over 193 units, down 23.6% year-on-year.
In October, 31,644 trucks and vans were produced in Poland. October is another month in a row with such a high result after the weaker two summer months.  The recorded result is higher than both September and the same month last year by 14.1% and 3.6% respectively. After 10 months of 2024, truck and van production is higher by 15% year-on-year.
In October this year, production of engines for motor vehicles totalled 205,000 units, up by 8.5% compared to the previous month. However, in comparison to October 2023, it is slightly lower by 4.7% year-on-year. . Cumulatively since the beginning of the year, 1,930 thousand engines were produced, of which 95% are diesel engines and 5% petrol engines.

PZPM - GUS Motor Vehicle & Combustion Engines Production - SEPTEMBER 2024

We present the results on PRODUCTION OF MOTOR VEHICLES and ENGINES FOR MECHANICAL VEHICLES in POLAND in SEPTEMBER 2024, based on data from the Central Statistical Office (CSO)

In September 2024 , production of all types of vehicles and engines was significantly higher than a month earlier. Compared to last September, the results produced also surpassed last year's results. The exception is the passenger car segment, which recorded a very low result for the third consecutive month.

PASSENGER CARS
y/y change: September -63.4%; January-September:  -21.3%
In September after a very weak July and August, production increased slightly last month, but the result of 10, 2 thousand units generated is 63.4% lower than September 2023.
After nine months this year, the decrease amounts to -21.3% y/y.

COMMERCIAL VEHICLES (incl.LCV), TRAILER & SEMI-TRAILERS
y/y change: September +28.6% January-September: +15.4%
In September this year , trucks recovered after the holiday season with a strong result of 30,542 units. , which is higher than both last month (+35.7%) and the same month last year (+28.6% y/y). Truck production has remained on the upswing since the beginning of the year, with an increase of 15.4% y/y at the end of September.

BUSES & COACHES ( (for transporting 10 people and more)
y/y change: September +46.6% ; January-September: -6,7%
In September 2024, bus production completed with a strong result of 532 units, 46.6% higher than a year earlier and 54.2% higher than in August this year.
A total of 3,460 vehicles for public transport were produced in the first nine months of this year. The solid September result did not offset losses from the holiday period, and at the end of September, bus production remains on a slight loss (-6.7% y/y).

COMBUSTION ENEGINES FOR VEHICLES
y/y change: September +28.9% ; January-September: -2,1%
In September this year, production of engines for motor vehicles, with a result of 189,000 units, was higher than in the last two summer months and also higher than in September 2023.
Nevertheless, after nine months of this year, it is 2.9% lower than in the same period of 2023.
The number of diesel engines at the end of the third quarter amounted to 1,639 units, 8.5% more than last year, while the production of gasoline engines in the period in question recorded a decline of 67.5% y/y.

We present the results on PRODUCTION OF MOTOR VEHICLES and ENGINES FOR MECHANICAL VEHICLES in POLAND in AUGUST 2024, based on data from the Central Statistical Office (CSO)

In August this year - the results of PRODUCTION OF MOTOR VEHICLES and ENGINES FOR MECHANICAL VEHICLES in Poland were very poor for a second consecutive month.
The lower results were partly influenced by seasonality as well as the termination and reduction of production and restructuring at many automotive plants in Poland. However, the reported results are slightly higher than a month earlier.

PASSENGER CARS
y/y change: August -57.4% ; January - August: -15,4%
In August 2024, passenger car production saw a very low result of 8.3 thousand units sold, which means a huge 57.4% decrease compared to last August.
The outcome is slightly higher by 1 thousand units than a month earlier. (+13.7%m/m). Considering the period since 2001, since when PZPM has been keeping statistics, only in 2002 fewer cars came off the production lines, i.e. 4 thousand units.
During the 8 months of this year, 167.6 thousand cars were produced, by 30.5 thousand units. (-15.4% y/y) less than in the same period of 2023. At the end of July this year, the decrease was 10.8% y/y .

COMMERCIAL VEHICLES (incl.LCV), TRAILER & SEMI-TRAILERS
y/y change: August +13.8% y/y; January-August: +13.8% y/y
In August 2024, 22,512 trucks (including road tractors for pulling semi-trailers) left Polish plants by 2,728 units. (+13.8% y/y) more than in August 2023. The result produced is also higher than July's by 3,619 units. (+19.2% m/m).
A total of 225,047 vehicles were produced in January-August 2024, up by 27,319 units. (+13.8% y/y). Despite the large drop in July, truck production remains in positive territory.

BUSES & COACHES ( (for transporting 10 people and more)
y/y change: August +25.5% y/y; January-August: -12.4% y/y
In August 2024r, 345 public transport vehicles left Polish plants, by 70 units. (+25.5% y/y) more than in the same month of 2023. The reported result is also higher by 101 units. (+41.4% m/m) than in July this year.
In the first eight months of this year, 2,928 buses were built in Poland. This is less than in the same period of 2023 by 416 units. (-12.4% y/y).

COMBUSTION ENEGINES FOR VEHICLES

Production was slightly higher than in August 2023. Cumulatively, it remains in negative territory.
Y/Y change: August +4.4% y/y; January-August: -5.0% y/y
In August, 141,000 engines for motor vehicles were produced, accounting for a 4.4% increase compared to August 2023. Compared to the previous month, production was lower by 18,000 units. (-11.3% m/m).
After 8 months of this year, the result generated (1,536 thousand copies) is 80 thousand units lower than in the same period of 2023. and represents a 5.0% year-on-year decline. It is worth noting the gradual reduction in the share of gasoline engines, which at the end of August accounted for only 5.3% of total production
