PZPM - GUS Motor Vehicle & Combustion Engines Production - DECEMBER 2024

We present the results on PRODUCTION OF MOTOR VEHICLES and ENGINES FOR MECHANICAL VEHICLES in POLAND in DECEMBER 2024, based on data from the Central Statistical Office (CSO)'

PASSENGER CARS
In DECEMBER, 8.8 thousand passenger cars were produced in Poland. Lower result this year was recorded in August only - 8.3 thousand cars.  The achieved result is lower by 10.1 thousand cars. (-53.4%) than in the same month last year, and lower than the previous month by 3.5 thousand cars. (-28,5%).
At the end of the year, the production of passenger cars in Poland amounted to 216.2 thousand cars, which is down by 27.8 y/y compared to 2023, when almost 300 thousand cars left the production lines.

COMMERCIAL VEHICLES (incl.LCV), TRAILER & SEMI-TRAILERS
The situation in the segment of trucks and vans is definitely more positive. Last month, 19 684 units were produced. Despite the fact that the recorded result is lower than both December's and November's, by 6 020 vehicles (-23.4%) and 5 977 units (-23.3%m/m), respectively, production reached a record level.
Throughout 2024, a total of 332,043 vehicles left Polish plants, 23,585 units more (+7.6% y/y) than in 2023. The monthly average at the end of the year was 27,670 units. Such an impressive result was driven mainly by the production of vans up to 3.5t.

BUSES & COACHES ( (for transporting 10 people and more)
In December 2024, 761 buses left Polish factories. Compared to the same month of 2023, this is more by 336 units. (+79% y/y). The result is also minimally lower than in November 2024r. by 27 vehicles (-3% m/m).
During the 12 months of 2024, 7,103 vehicles for public transport were produced in Poland, 1,979 units more, which means an increase of 38.6% y/y.

COMBUSTION ENEGINES FOR VEHICLES
In December 2024, the production of engines for motor vehicles amounted to 120.3 thousand units, 33.7 thousand units less than in the same month of 2023, i.e. -21.9% y/y and also less than in the previous month by 57.9 thousand units. (-32% m/m).
Year-to-date, 2 229.5 thousand engines were produced, 141.5 thousand less than in the whole of 2023, down 6% y/y. Among the engines produced - 2,118.2 are diesel engines (94.7% of all engines) and 111.3 thousand petrol engines, which account for only 5.3%.
