We present the ACEA report on registration of new passenger cars in the EU by fuel types*
In the third quarter of 2020, almost one in 10 passenger cars sold in the EU was an electricallychargeable
vehicle (9.9%), compared to 3.0% during the same period last year. The support
measures introduced by various countries to stimulate car demand amid the COVID‐19 pandemic
disadvantaged conventionally‐powered vehicles. However, diesel and petrol together still
accounted for more than 75% of total EU car sales from July to September.
