New buses JULY (+18,7% y/y); JANUARY-JULY (+46% y/y)
In July 2024, 178 new buses were registered in Poland, 28 units more than a year ago (+18.7% y/y). On the other hand, the total is significantly lower than in June, when bus sales reached 233 units. (-55 units / -23.6% m/m).
In the face of growing cyber-security threats, the automotive industry in Poland faces challenges including a lack of interdisciplinary design and standardized metrics for assessing cyber-security maturity, according to a report by KPMG in Poland and PZPM "Automotive industry. Summary data for H1 2024." The publication also analyzes the results of auto sales in Poland for the first half of 2024. During the period in question, 277,000 new passenger cars were registered in the Polish automotive market, 16% more than in the same period last year. In contrast, the truck segment saw a 10% year-on-year decline in sales. During the first half of 2024, as many as 145,000 alternative-powered vehicles were registered in Poland, 39.4% more than in the first half of 2023.
From January to June 2024, 277,000 passenger cars were registered in Poland, 16% more than in the same period last year. The number of institutional customers increased by a tenth (+10.3% y/y), while the number of individual customers increased by a third (+31% y/y).
In the second quarter of 2024, registrations of premium brand cars grew dynamically, with 71,400 units registered (up 23% y/y). At the same time, 205.6 thousand units of popular brand cars were registered (+13.8% y/y).

We present registrations of new cars, vans, trucks and singletracks in Poland in the first 10 days of this month, based on data from the Central Vehicle Register.
August this year saw a massive drop in motor vehicle registration results compared to the same period in 2023. While passenger cars are down -8.9% y/y, light truck registrations have already decreased by 20.1% y/y and heavy trucks over 3.5 t. dropped sharply by 67.7% year-on-year.
Unicycles continued their upward trend.
From AUGUST 1 to 10, 2024 were registered:
Passenger cars: 11,679 units -8.9% y/y
Commercial vehicles: 1,271 units -20.1% y/y
Cars and vans: 12,950 units -10.2% y/y
Trucks over 3.5t: 459 units -67.7% y/y
Motorcycles: 1,278 units +34.2% y/y
Mopeds: 544 units +26.2% y/y

import of used cars to Poland increased by 28.9% year-on-year.
Since the beginning of the year
, 738,439 cars have arrived, 25.2% more than in the same period of 2023.
The age structure of cars imported to our country is gradually changing in favor of younger cars, a change of the trend existing in 2023.
Cars up to 4 years old now account for 9.4% of the share versus 7.1% in 2023, while those between 4 and 10 years old account for 34.6% versus 29.7% last year, while cars older than 10 years old represent 56.0% of the share in the total number of cars imported this year at the end of July versus 63.3% a year earlier.
