Motor Vehicle Production & combustion engines for vehicles in Poland in JULY 2024

We present the results on PRODUCTION OF MOTOR VEHICLES and ENGINES FOR  VEHICLES in POLAND in JULY 2024, based on data from the Central Statistical Office (CSO)

In July 2024, vehicle and engine production decreased significantly compared to the same month last year. The lower results were partly influenced by seasonality as well as the termination and reduction of production and restructuring at many automotive plants in Poland.

Passenger Cars:
y/y change: July -72.0% ; January-July: -10.8%
IN JULY 2024, according to the latest data published by the Central Statistical Office, passenger car production ended with a very low result of 7.3 thousand units sold, which means a huge 72% decrease compared to July last year.
Since the beginning of the year, a total of 159.3 thousand cars have rolled off the production lines, more than 10% less (-10.8%) than in the same period of 2023. At the end of June, the decrease was marginal and amounted to 0.3% y/y.

Commercial vehicles (incl. LCV), trailer & semi-trailers
y/y change: July -30.9% y/y; January-July: +13.8% y/y
In July, just 18,893 trucks (including road tractors for hauling semi-trailers) left Polish plants, recording a significant 30.9% y/y drop in production.
In January-July 2024, a total of 202,535 vehicles were produced. Despite the large decline in the last month, the good results achieved in the first half of the year allow to maintain a positive result of +13.8% compared to the same period of 2023. After the first half of the year, growth was +21.9% year-on-year.

Buses & coaches (for transporting 10 people and more):

y/y change: July -36.3% y/y; January-July: -15.8%
Only 244 vehicles for public transportation left Polish plants in July, down by 36.3% from the same month in 2023.
During the first seven months of this year, 2,583 buses were produced in Poland. The result is by 15.8% y/y lower than in the same period of 2023.

Combustion engines for vehicles
y/y change: July -18.0% y/y; January-July: -5.8% y/y
In July, 159,000 engines for motor vehicles were produced, accounting for an 18% decrease compared to July 2023. Compared to the previous month, production is 35 thousand lower. (-18% m/m)
After 7 months of this year, the achieved result (1,395 thousand units) is lower by 86 thousand units and stands for a 5.8% year-on-year decline. At the end of the first half of the year, the decline was -4%.

According to data from the end of July 2024, a total of 70 579 passenger and commercial all-electric vehicles (BEVs) were registered in Poland. During the first six months of this year, their number increased by 14 102 units (i.e. 6% more than in the same period of 2023) - according to the E-mobility Index, launched by PZPM and PSNM.

10 days of AUGUST 2024 - new registrations PC, LCV, CV and PTW

We present registrations of new cars, vans, trucks and singletracks in Poland in the first 20 days of this month, based on data from the Central Vehicle Register.
After 20 days of August b.c., the results are significantly higher than in the first decade of the month in all segments except heavy trucks, where the decline has even deepened.
Passenger cars turned up +5.8% y/y, light trucks with considerably lower decline of -5.9 y/y while trucks over 3.5t with a huge 78.1% y/y drop. After 10 days, it was 67.7% y/y.
Motorcycles and mopeds, on the other hand, continued growth of +58.3% and 43.1% y/y, respectively.

From AUGUST 1 to 10, 2024 were registered:
    Passenger cars:         20 656 units   +5,8% y/y
    Commercial vehicles:   2 240 units   -5,9% y/y

    Trucks over 3.5t:           776 units   -78,1% y/y
