Production of motor vehicles and engines for motor vehicles in Poland according to CSO data - JUNE 2023
According to the Central Statistical Office, the production of motor vehicles in Poland increased in JUNE compared to the same month in 2022.
In June
2023
production of passenger cars increased by 34.8% y/y; trucks and vans increased production by 43.3%y/y. while buses achieved a result higher by 6.8% y/y. The production of engines for internal combustion cars was also at a positive level compared to June 2022.
In June, the number of passenger cars
produced amounted to 27.9 thousand units and was also higher than the year before by 2.7 thousand cars (34.8% y/y). Compared to May the increase amounted to 10.7% m/m.
Cumulatively, in the period January - June 2023
, production increased by 25.4% y/y to 149,000 units. Although the base for comparison was very low, we observe a systematic slight increase in the production of passenger cars compared to the years 2020 - 2022 and a gradual stabilization in this segment.
In June 2023
, the production of heavy goods vehicles increased for another month in a row, reaching the number of 27,674 vehicles produced. The recorded result is higher than in June 2022 by 8,366 units (43.3%y/y) and in May this year by 12% m/m.
The cumulative result in the first half of the year
was higher by 63.0% y/y with 150,594 vehicles produced.
In June 2023
, 520 buses left Polish plants, 33 more than in June 2022 (6.8% y/y). The result achieved is also higher than in May this year by 87 units (+20.1% m/m).
In total during the first half of 2023
, 2,686 buses were produced, which means an increase of 11.1% y/y.
In June 2023
, 230 thousand engines for motor vehicles were produced in Polish plants, by 56 thousand more than in the same month last year. The recorded result is also higher than that obtained in May this year by 8 thousand units (+3.6% m/m).
Cumulatively, in the period of January-June 202
3, 1,287 thousand engines were produced, 31.5% more than in the first half of 2022, emong them 1 070 thousand diesel engines and 217 thousand petrol engines.
