In the first half of 2021, 242.1 thousand new passenger cars were registered in Poland, by 34.6% more than in the first half of 2020. The sales growth was also recorded in the segments of vans (+57%), heavy commercial vehicles (+96.8%), trailers and semi-trailers (+121.7%) and motorbikes, which saw 17.3% more registrations year-on-year. The trend of lower registrations of buses (-4%) and mopeds (-20.2%) is being continued. The second quarter of 2021 was the fourth consecutive record-breaking quarter in terms of registrations of alternative-powered passenger cars. The number of new registrations of this type of vehicles reached 75.8 thousand from January to June 2021 (+176.6% y/y). In the first half of 2021, automotive manufacturers in Poland produced a total of 234.7 thousand vehicles - 16.7% more than in the same period of 2020.
