PZPM - GUS Motor Vehicle Production and combustion engines for vehicles - JULY 2026

We present the results on PRODUCTION of MOTOR VEHICLES and ENGINES for MECHANICAL VEHICLES in POLAND after the first seven months of 2026, based on data from the Central Statistical Office (CSO)'

Between January and July 2026, a total of 156.8 thousand passenger cars, 189.3 thousand trucks and road tractors, and 4,023 buses were produced in Poland.

Passenger car production declined by 13.9% year-on-year . At the same time, vehicles equipped with alternative powertrains continued to strengthen their position, accounting for nearly 67% of total passenger car output . Production of these vehicles reached 104.8 thousand units , compared with 52.0 thousand units produced with conventional internal combustion engines only.

A different trend was observed in the commercial vehicle segment. Production of trucks and road tractors increased by 3.4% year-on-year to 189.3 thousand units , while bus production rose by 9.6% year-on-year to 4,023 units .

ENGINES

Between January and July 2026, engine production in Poland totalled 1.25 million units, representing a year-on-year decrease of 3.3%. In July alone, 158.5 thousand engines were produced, 6.0% fewer than a year earlier.

Diesel engines continued to account for the vast majority of production. During the first seven months of 2026, their output reached 1.249 million units, up 1.5% year on year. Petrol engine production virtually ceased, amounting to just 1 thousand units, compared with 65.9 thousand units in the corresponding period of 2025.

The decline in total engine production resulted from the continued reduction in petrol engine output, while diesel engine production remained at a high level.
